Pool Transformation Serves Up An Ace
Out with the old and in with the new. As the standout feature in a Hamptons-style renovation, this award-winning pool replaced an ageing tennis court and once again turned a Rossmoyne backyard into an area enjoyed by the whole family.
Taking out the gold medal in the Residential Fibreglass Pool $40,000-$60,000 category at the Swimming Pool and Spas Association of WA awards, Barrier Reef Pools Perth and Mondo Landscapes joined forces to deliver a stunning outdoor feature.
With a relaxed Hamptons-style vibe characterised by neutral colours and a minimal design, this pool is the perfect setting for enjoying evening barbecues or hot summer weekends.
According to Barrier Reef Pools Perth Owner Bradley Hilbert, the homeowners had recently renovated their home interior and wanted this fresh feel reflected in their new backyard space.
“The existing tennis court was tired and took up the whole back area,” he said. “It offered no visual appeal and had become a white elephant.
“The clients had recently undertaken major renovations within their home, giving it a coastal Hamptons feel. “The pool area is reflective of this, with a neutral palette and custom designed pool pavilion.”
With the pool needing to suit a retired couple who have grandchildren and love to entertain, the feature had to be suitable for those both young and old to enjoy.
“A pavilion and large umbrella offer shade, while a small patch of lawn and some beautiful plants provide a green backdrop throughout the year,” Mr Hilbert said.
Challenging due to limited access to the rear garden, this pool was caringly constructed from day one.
It’s a serene space that can offer that piece of serenity, while also providing the functionality of a pool where you can swim laps or bask in the relaxing bubbles of an incorporated spa feature.
“The use of natural stone, coordinating materials and textures, offers an easy transition from the patio to the pool,” Mr Hilbert said.
“Water blades, an outdoor shower and lush planting complete the picture.”
